Get Involved

Would you like to get research experience during your undergraduate degree?

Research experience is important when applying to professional and graduate programs (e.g., medicine, clinical psychology, law, etc.). It is also a great way to learn more about the research process, meet new people, and develop research interests. If you are interested in volunteering in our lab (e.g., data collection and management, participant recruitment, etc.), please email Dr. Carter at jacqueline.carter@mun.ca. Please note that we may not need volunteers at all times.

Prospective honours students

Undergraduate psychology students (B.A. or B.Sc.) at MUN who are interested in doing the honours program can approach Dr. Carter to supervise their thesis. MEBL is a great place for enthusiastic, hard-working, and reliable students with interests in clinical psychology, mental health, health psychology, and eating disorders.

If you are interested in being supervised by Dr. Carter, please email her at jacqueline.carter@mun.ca in September/October of the year prior to your honours. Please include your CV, your undergraduate grades (an unofficial transcript from Self-Service is acceptable), and a short statement (250-300 words) detailing why you want to work with Dr. Carter.

For more information on the honours program, please visit MUN psychology department's honours program website.

Prospective graduate students

Students in the Masters of Experimental Psychology, PhD in Experimental Psychology, and Clinical Psychology Doctorate (Psy.D.) can be supervised by Dr. Carter. Students who are interested in graduate studies in MEBL should contact Dr. Carter to discuss her availability to supervise and current research. Please attach a copy of your current CV.
