The symbol of eating disorder recovery.
WHO WE ARE
Welcome to our lab website!
The Memorial University Eating Behaviours Laboratory
(MEBL) is focused on understanding psychological factors related to eating behaviour, weight concerns, and body image. Broadly, we are interested in the ways that eating and weight-related behaviours are related to mental health and quality of life.
We are currently conducting research aimed at understanding psychosocial factors that may explain why some young people are more vulnerable to developing disordered eating and body image dissatisfaction than others.
Current studies are focused on the role of weight-based stigma and difficulties with negative and positive emotion regulation.
Our lab is directed by Dr. Jacqueline Carter and consists of research assistants, graduate students, and undergraduate students in psychology at Memorial University. Explore our website to learn more about our exciting research!
