WHO WE ARE
Welcome to our lab website!
The Memorial University Eating Behaviours Laboratory
(MEBL) conducts research aimed at understanding psychosocial risk factors for disordered eating and body image dissatisfaction.
We are currently conducting research aimed at understanding psychological and social factors that may explain why some young people are more vulnerable to developing disordered eating and body image disturbance than others.
Current studies are focused on the role of weight stigma, difficulties with negative and positive emotion regulation, executive function deficits, and social media.
Our lab is directed by Dr. Jacqueline Carter and consists of research assistants, graduate students, and undergraduate students in psychology at Memorial University. Explore our website to learn more about our exciting research!
